Why Kimono

Ancient tradition.Modern ritual.

For centuries, tea in Japan has represented more than refreshment. It can be a moment of attention, simplicity, hospitality, beauty and connection.

Kimono Tea takes inspiration from that tradition and brings it into modern everyday life — ready whenever you are.

The Hero

Meet matcha.

The tea that started the journey

Most tea is steeped and then discarded. Matcha is different: the leaves are finely milled into powder and whisked into the water, so the leaf itself is consumed. That is why matcha tastes fuller, looks more vivid and feels more present.

Green tea naturally contains caffeine alongside L-theanine, an amino acid characteristic of the tea plant. Together they give matcha the calm, attentive quality that people who drink it describe as focus rather than a rush.

For anyone looking for a daily energy ritual that is not another coffee, matcha is a beautiful place to begin.

The Name

Why Kimono?

A kimono is more than clothing. Its patterns, colors, materials and craftsmanship can reflect season, occasion, place and generations of tradition.

We chose the name Kimono because we hope to bring that same respect for beauty, detail and heritage to Japanese tea.

Kimono Tea is our invitation to experience a small piece of Japan in everyday life.

Inspired by Japan.Created with admiration for its tea culture, craftsmanship and traditions.
